Sing Your Heart Out

*Members needed*

Sing Your Heart Out is for anyone who enjoys singing with others, wants to meet friendly people and feel welcome and valued.

Anyone of 18 or over can come along to SYHO’s singing workshops, which are led by professional singing tutors.

We especially welcome people who may be facing a mental health challenge, including service users, their family, friends, and carers, and those coping with bereavement, stress, anxiety or depression.  Our sessions help people to feel better in all sorts of ways: they can lift your mood, increase your confidence and give you a chance to be with other people who understand how you feel.

Everyone is  encouraged to join in and sing, but if this worries you, you can just enjoy listening to begin with.

You don't need any experience or talent and everyone can join in whatever their voice is like.

The songs we learn are usually quite simple and singers don’t need to be able to read music, but we learn to sing in three or four parts and you need to feel comfortable with this. Words to the songs are provided but we do not have written music as everything is learned by listening and repeating.

We sing for a while, have a short break and then sing a bit more.

You don’t have to book in advance and there is no charge for coming - though we do appreciate donations.

If you are not sure if SYHO is for you, come along and give it a try!
