Volunteering at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital
An introduction to the role of Voluntary Services at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust
We recruit and support volunteers from all sections of the local community who are willing to help our staff to look after our patients. With support, our volunteers can make a real difference to the lives of patients in our care.
What you, as a volunteer, can offer us.
You can share your skills, knowledge, leisure time and friendship with our patients, many of whom can be lonely or worried. The most valuable contribution you can make will often be enthusiasm and commitment, ensuring the patient experience is the best it can be.
You will be part of a very special and dedicated team helping patients, visitors and clinical staff. Your help will be far more important than you may realise at first. Staff, patients and relatives do notice and are very thankful for the involvement of our volunteers.

Commitment
We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours in a day, once a week. We also ask for a commitment of a minimum 12 months. This is because of the resources that are required to have the volunteer trained and supported in their role.
If you are unable to volunteer on occasions, please do let us know at least 4 weeks in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Our volunteers are supplied with a name badge which must be worn at all times, in some cases a uniform may also be provided.
