Equal Lives

We are Equal Lives, a disability rights organisation based in Norfolk and Suffolk. We exist to support people of any age who face disabling barriers and we are dedicated to making their voices heard. We are a user-led organisation, meaning we are led by people who access care and support services themselves.

We can support with Information & Advice, Shopmobility, Advocacy, and Campaigning.

Please be aware that as of 1st April 2022 we are no longer contracted to provide advice about welfare benefits, including appeals. If you’re looking for support with benefits you can now call the new Norfolk Advice Network Helpline on 0333 996 8333.

Advice and Membership Team

Our friendly Advice and Membership team offers a telephone and email enquiry service. They can provide advice on:

• ​Discrimination and legal rights
• Complaints about companies/services
• Mental health
• Who can help in a crisis
• Information and advice on finding support
• Independent living
• Social care
• Accessibility

You can call and speak to one of our team to get information and advice between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed on Bank Holidays.

If we are unable to help with your query, we will try to signpost you somewhere that can.

Community Advocacy

Our community advocacy service is currently open to new referrals. Please be aware: since October 2022, the way in which we accept referrals has changed.
