Exercising People In Communities Norfolk - (EPIC Norfolk)

EPIC

Making a difference in Norfolk communities through physical activity for all.

Exercising People in Communities Norfolk is a social enterprise which promotes and delivers the benefits of physical activity for people of all ages and abilities. On this website you will find details of the range of activities the organisation is involved in and offers across the county. The organisation’s Director, Steven Hitcham, is a level 4 qualified  instructor with a range of specialist sport qualifications, and is certified to provide activity sessions for people living with complex disabilities as well as in care homes and schools in the UK. Steven has extensive experience working with a number of groups to provide activity and movement sessions for improved health and independence.

Here is a brief list of the activities and groups organised through EPIC Norfolk, further details of which can be found on the website:

On The Move
Activity sessions and facility assessment project for people living with complex disabilities. This is a project funded by Sport England’s Core Markets initiative and commissioned by Active Norfolk.

Intergenerational Sports
This project connects isolated elderly people, often living in care settings, with young people who bring activity and energy. EPIC Norfolk coordinates several of these sessions for care homes and schools in Norfolk.

EPIC Sports Days & Events
We offer a wide range of sports activities, which are ideal for team building events, stag and hen dos and parties. We also manage the Active Workplaces competitions on behalf of Active Norfolk.

EPIC 5K Races

In 2020, we generated over £5,000 in profit for the #RunWithPride, EPIC Aylsham 5K, EPIC North Walsham 5K and Blickling Half Marathon. This profit has been reinvested into local sport and physical activity provision, and the LGBT+ community.

Exercise for Health
We provide a whole host of exercise for health sessions, including the pioneering On The Move programme, adapted sports sessions, dementia-friendly walks in Norfolk and many more. Click above to find out more.

EPIC Volunteering
As part of our corporate social responsibility, we offer group volunteering activities for your organisation to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of your employees and give something back to your local community.
