Thetford Community Fridge

The Community Fridge Network is all about food waste reduction (as opposed to food poverty reduction), whereby supermarkets, business, and individuals can donate surplus food that would otherwise be thrown in the bin. Anyone is then welcome to come in and help themselves to anything from the Fridge. Food is weighed on scales before it is put in, and then people are asked to weigh whatever they take out so we can keep track of how much is being saved from the bin. The Thetford Fridge (in the Abbey Neighbourhood Centre) is officially open Monday – Friday, 10 – 2pm.
