OUR AIMS

Our current target is to raise £150k. This will enable us to promote Greater Awareness and provide consistent Support for Barrett’s sufferers, and anyone concerned about Persistent Heartburn or those wishing to know more about the condition.

Heartburn affects 1 in 10 of us and is dismissed as being a harmless problem. It is estimated that in the region of 500,000 people in the UK have the pre-cancerous condition, Barrett’s Oesophagus, and most are totally unaware of it.

10% of all GP consultations are about gasto-intestinal problems

More ant- acids are sold in the UK than aspirin

Around 10% (50,000) of those will progress to Oesophageal Cancer.
