The St. Vincent de Paul Society
The St Vincent de Paul Society (or as it is often known - the SVP) is an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical assistance to those in need – irrespective of ideology, faith, ethnicity, age or gender.
The main work of the volunteer members is to befriend and assist vulnerable people in need on a person-to-person basis, through home visits or visits to care homes, hospitals or other institutions.
The Society also operates a number of 'special works' which serve a wider or specialised community. These works currently include holiday schemes, community shops, residential care, deaf clubs, debt counselling, community transport and asylum care. These facilities are not currently available in King's Lynn.
Further information about the Society, becoming a member or requesting assistance, can be found on the website below.
