Big C - Support For People Affected By Cancer

Big C is a local cancer charity that has friendly and welcoming support centres.

They support anyone affected by cancer, including carers and children. Their team of experienced nurses, support officers, complementary therapists, counsellors, welfare rights advisors, nutrition and physical activity leads, and friendly volunteers will help you whatever your situation. 

The range of support they offer include:

- personalised support and information from nurses and support officers 

- complementary therapies - including massage, reflexology and reiki

- counselling - for individuals and families, and for the bereaved

- welfare rights / benefits advice - eligibility checks and help with applications, blue badges and grants

- relaxation and mindfulness group

- Support groups for

- people with cancer

- carers

- those who communicate using British Sign Language

- breast cancer

- those affected by dementia and cancer

- people under palliative care

- teenagers and young adults

- prostate cancer

* Services available vary depending on the centre. Where possible, services can also be accessed over telephone, email, or video. 

All their support is completely free of charge. They accept self-referrals and professional referrals.
