Colostomy UK

The Colostomy UK is a UK registered charity representing the interests of people with a colostomy.

It offers support, reassurance and practical information to anyone who may be about to have, or already has a colostomy. The Association provides assistance to those who are new to living with a colostomy as well as those who have been colostomates for many years. Appropriate support and advice is offered to families and carers both before and after surgery.

Its free telephone helpline operates 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week. Out-of-office hours the helpline is manned by specially trained volunteers who have all undergone stoma surgery. Enquiries can also be emailed to the helpline.

They also run Active Ostomates which helps get people active after stoma surgery.

We deliver a range of free sessions through stoma support groups, and in the community, all aimed at improving the physical and mental well-being of people with a stoma, and supporting them to get their lives back on track as soon as possible.

Active Ostomates – At home

We are proud to launch ‘Active Ostomates – At Home’, a range of online classes as part of our Active Ostomates programme. We’d love you to join us!

It’s vital for our health, especially with restrictions in place to stay physically and mentally active. Although we’ve had to cancel the Active Ostomates community sessions we had planned over the coming months, we’ve come up with some new creative ways to keep mentally and physically active, and look after your emotional well being while staying safe at home. Active Ostomates - Team Colostomy UK
