Beyond Food - Inspiring a future beyond Homelessness
Our mission at the Beyond Food Community Interest Company is to inspire people who are at risk of, or have experienced, homelessness to gain meaningful employment.
To us, meaningful employment is emotionally, economically and intellectually fulfilling to the individual, as well as beneficial to the society we live in.
Our philosophy has always been about bringing people together around food. Without communication in life, what is there? There is absolutely nothing. We spend an awful lot of time talking to them about the ‘now’. Not worrying about the future, the ‘now’. The future will sort itself out, as long as every day, you are changing and doing the right thing. Because life is short.
Beyond Food is offering free cookery books called 'How to Cook and Keep on Cooking' to organisations helping vulnerable young people. The book is aimed at young disadvantaged people to help them, through food and cooking for themselves, to reenergize their health and wellbeing.
