Volunteer Mentors for offenders in Kings Lynn area

Open Road is looking for volunteer mentors to support offenders in probation to re-engage with the Kings Lynn (and surrounding area) community and support their self esteem/confidence.

Mentoring is all about supporting the offender to move forward from their conviction and lead a offending free life, this can be done by supporting the offender to access services like the Job Centre or Doctors or just have a coffee and chat to put the world to rights. We ask for as little as 1 hour per week during the working week (no weekends or evenings) to meet with an offender.

In return, Open Road offers mentors:

  • Full training ran in local area
  • Expenses including refreshments during meetings with offenders
  • Mobile to use to contact offender
  • On-going training and support
  • Local based meetings, eg in Kings Lynn town centre so driving/access to car not a requirement for role

Interested? Please contact Helen OR visit our website www.openroad.org.uk (look under volunteer section and mentor role for specific information)
