The Furniture Makers' Company
The Furniture Makers’ Company is the charity for the furnishing industry, providing leadership to the industry and a framework of support which promotes excellence, nurtures talent through education, and helps those in need.
The furnishing industry employs around 250,000 people across every sector, including manufacturing, retail, design and education. From students to business owners, textile designers to furniture makers, a vast array of people are involved. And from time to time, some will need financial assistance or advice.
The Furniture Makers' Company is there to help when you need it most – whether you or your partner still work within the industry or have now retired. It might be a grant towards essential home repairs or a contribution towards specialised equipment, help with travel costs for hospital appointments or replacing a worn-out fridge. Every case is different and each application is assessed with care and consideration.
To qualify for assistance applicants or their partner must have worked in the furnishing industry for at least two years.
