In Time, Together - 'music for dementia and people in old age'

In Time, Together is an inclusive group music-making activity from Musical Keys where participants have an opportunity to engage in singing and songwriting and to use a variety of instruments that cater for people with no musical ability to those with more advanced skills.

A Musical Keys tutor provides sessions of between 45-90 minutes that focus on two core activities:

- To use reminiscence in group music making, using memory and choice from particpants to guide the activity.

- To create original music, which has input from each member of group, that is informed by any thematic material collected from the initial conversations within the session (something on TV, weather, the tutors colourful shirt!).

Currently In Time, Together is delivered weekly in three residential homes in Norfolk although we are able to work throughout the region on one-off sessions to more frequent periods of engagment.
