Coronavirus adult learning class updates

Update - Thursday 28 January: We have decided that all our current courses that can be delivered online will remain online until after the Easter holidays. Unfortunately, this means that courses where online delivery is not possible will remain suspended until the start of the summer term. The summer term is due to start on Monday 12th April and we will further review whether we can return to the classroom after Easter in the week commencing 15th March 2021.

We have also stopped delivering face-to-face examinations to protect our learners and staff. Wherever possible, we will offer remote assessment if the awarding organisation has made this option available to us. We know that this is not an option for many of our learners and we are genuinely sorry that you may be waiting to take your examination or assessment. Thank you for your patience and please be assured that, as soon as the guidance changes and health and safety considerations determine that we can return to physical examinations, we will do so.

In the 2020/21 academic year, we welcome new and returning learners back to both our physical and our virtual classrooms.

We are very proud of our Adult Learning staff, who have successfully kept our learners learning and achieving during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are at the forefront nationally in the delivery of online learning, and we will continue to provide a high quality, flexible experience to all of our learners.

Our academic programme offers a mix of both classroom-based and virtual learning opportunities.

Planning with everyone’s safety in mind
We know that the Covid-19 pandemic means that in this academic year we will have to work flexibly and be ready to respond to local and national lockdowns and local tier restrictions at very short notice.

If you join an online course, your course will remain online for the duration and regardless of what is happening in relation to the pandemic. You can just continue to log in for your lessons.
