Bus Users

Bus Users UK gives passengers a voice, campaigns for better services, and works to protect the interests of bus and coach users.

Buses are a lifeline. They help reduce congestion and pollution, build communities, and ensure that people from all social backgrounds and locations can get to work, school or college, access the shops and vital services, or visit friends and family.

Every year we make around 5 billion bus and coach journeys - that’s three times more journeys than are made by train.

It’s no exaggeration to say that without buses, many towns and cities would grind to a halt.

That’s why it’s vital that bus services meet the needs of their passengers with:

  • punctual and reliable services
  • clear timetable and fare information
  • helpful staff
  • safe and well lit waiting areas
  • fair and professional complaints handling.

We want to create better bus services for everyone by encouraging and promoting good practice.

In everything we do, whether its running local events, working with bus and coach operators, handling complaints or talking to Government, we represent the views and interests of the passenger.
