The Eaton Fund
The Eaton Fund provides donations to those who are in need of financial assistance. In every case we hope to make a difference to the quality of life, to enhance independence and/or to improve career prospects. In our assessment of need we aim to be consistent and fair.
Who may apply?
The Trustees are able to consider applications for grants from the following people, if they are resident in the UK:
Painters, potters, sculptors and photographers, not performing artists. The Trustees are always pleased to see photos of the artist's work or a link to the artist's website. NB Art students must be UK citizens.
Male or female, e.g. SRN, SEN, health care assistants (with relevant qualifications) or dental nurses in employment or retired, in hardship or with long-term sickness/disability.
Women over 18 years, experiencing hardship. Please note, that applications must be made via an independent referee.
Applicants must be resident in the UK.
Donations are made, once only to each individual, for a specific item or purpose. Sometimes the Fund is able to make a contribution to a costly item such as an electric wheelchair. Applications cannot be considered unless a fully completed form is submitted. A supporting letter from a third party, such as a social worker or tutor, is also required. Once a grant has been made, no further applications can be considered.
Assistance has been given for the following:
- a contribution towards setting up a new home after family breakdown
- contributions towards wheelchairs in cases of impaired mobility
- artists’ materials and equipment
- picture framing for an exhibition
Those who have a better chance of receiving a grant:
- give detailed information about their background and specific need, and
- apply also to other charities for contributions where sums over £300 are being requested.
All applications will be considered on their merits. In our assessment of need we aim to be consistent and fair.
Grants cannot be considered for educational fees, nor for recurring expenses such as mortgage repayments, rent, fuel or phone bills, special diets, care home fees, private treatments, medical care, nor to pay off creditors.
