Stroke Association - Here For You Service

Our Here for you service connects stroke survivors and carers to volunteers to help combat isolation and offer peer support.

The service remit is to offer telephone support to stroke survivors and carers across the UK over the coming months during the Covid-19 pandemic. The service is available to any stroke survivors or their carers regardless of location or attachment to an existing service.

Here for you provides beneficiaries with weekly calls from trained telephone support volunteers with whom they have been matched. Beneficiaries will receive one call, per week for up to twelve weeks (occasionally two calls in cases of particular need). Each call lasts around 30 minutes, and calls are all made by the volunteers to the beneficiary.
During the calls and at the end of the twelve weeks, beneficiaries will also be signposted to other national forms of support, if relevant and required.

Here for you provides two distinct telephone support offers: lived experience and connect and chat.

If you would like more information about the Here for you telephone support service contact the V&CP team on the email below.
