The Silver Social

Silver Social is a Breckland Council funded project, which sets out to engage with rural communities through touring artists. The project's first three years, 2017 - 2020, was funded by the Arts Council and managed by Breckland Council and after great success, Breckland Council took the decision to fully fund the Project for a further three years.
The Silver Social delivers something a little different to the normal daily village, or town, activities on offer to the older residents, some of whom struggle with mobility, confidence and transport, which can often lead to isolation. Silver Social is an exciting new approach to bringing art and culture into the heart of rural Norfolk, through an exciting touring programme.
Artists offer a diverse range of activities such as poetry, singing, dance, story telling and much more so there is lots of variety in our programme and always an opportunity to try something new. Behind it all the main theme is engagement and connection with our older residents. Over 60's will be encouraged to participate where they can and the events will move around the villages to ensure everyone is included.
While we are unable to meet with you in person due to the current circumstances, we have moved The Silver Social online and over the phone. You can still access high quality arts events from the comfort and safety of your own home. Please visit our website to find out more about the events we currently have on offer.
