The Norfolk Millennium Trust for Carers

The Norfolk Millennium Trust for Carers helps people who live in Norfolk whose lives are restricted because they are looking after a relative, friend, partner or neighbour who cannot manage without help. It will also help organisations and groups who run projects which benefit carers.

The help it gives must be to improve the quality of the carer's life. For example, for individual carers it can help with the provision of certain types of household equipment if this is of help to the carer. It can make a contribution towards a social or leisure activity which provides relief from caring. It is always willing to consider helping in other ways and welcomes suggestions if it is for something the carer cannot afford to self fund.

The Trust must be sure that the help requested will be of real benefit to the carer and that the benefit will be worth the cost involved. The majority of requests will be in the order of £100 to £200 but no more than £350.

For carers' groups and organisations, it will help with revenue, capital or expenses for new and innovative projects which benefit carers in Norfolk. It prefers to help projects which make a practical impact on a particular problem or need. Small community organisations and carers support groups are particularly encouraged to apply.
