Wellbeing 'Virtual Socials'
Virtual Social Events to help tackle isolation...
Wellbeing's Community Development team organise free social events every week for people living in Norfolk & Waveney to help you meet new people in a warm, safe and supportive environment. You don’t have to be actively receiving therapy or treatment from the Wellbeing Service to attend – anyone and everyone over the age of 16 is welcome and you can bring friends and family along too.
The socials cover a range of activities based around the ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ and are designed to support your mental and physical wellbeing.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions we are currently offering online virtual-socials, bringing Wellbeing to your own home and the whole of Norfolk & Waveney together. Current online socials include coffee catch-ups, quizzes, Theme Fridays, yoga and Five Ways to Wellbeing focused discussions, but please let us know if you have any ideas for socials you’d like to see run in the future!
All of the social events that we run are based upon the ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’. These are a set of evidence-based recommendations which, when followed, can improve your mental health and wellbeing. They are: Connect, be active, learn, take notice and give; and you can find out more about each of these here
In the current circumstances, all our social events are being held online. We will be hosting these via Zoom, and the links to join these socials will be posted in our events page linked below. Zoom can be accessed in your browser, downloaded from your PC or get the App for mobiles. Once you’ve installed or got the app, check our social media for the links to the socials at the times listed. The Zoom guide can be found here
The team are always keen to run social activities using input and ideas from you so please get in touch with any ideas you have!
