The Gallery for art+environment
GroundWork shows works by contemporary artists who care about how we see the world.
The Gallery was founded in July 2016 in a converted 1930s carpenter's workshop on the river Purfleet.
There are three contemporary art exhibitions per year featuring artists locally, nationally and internationally. Each exhibition aims to develop a new strand of interest in the environment and to stimulate related activity and events, timely in an era when we need to be increasingly wary of all kinds of threats from pollution, species loss, deforestation and climate change.
