Cambridge Shopmobility

Cambridge Shopmobility can provide mobility aids such as manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and scooters to help you shop and use other facilities in Cambridge city centre.

There are two Shopmobility centres, one on the fourth floor of the Grafton East car park and the other on the ground floor of the Grand Arcade car park. Anyone arriving by taxi or bus can be met at the bus station and bus stops.

Proof of your name and address is required before a mobility aid will be issued. You will also be required to sign a simple form for insurance purposes. Brief training is available for anyone who is unfamiliar with using an electrically powered chair or scooter. An escort service is available for wheelchair users and the visually-impaired for up to two hours. You need to book in advance for this service. Escorts are available in both centres, Monday to Friday from 10.00am - 4.00pm.

To make sure that a suitable mobility aid is available, phone the office you wish to use. Both have a 24-hour answerphone which operates outside office hours.

Open Monday to Saturday 10.00am - 5.00pm. The Grafton office is also open on Sundays 11.00am to 4.00pm
