The Workshop - Adult Dance Classes

The Workshop

Daytime Street (16+) - Tuesday - 1.30-2.30pm

Step up for these fun and energetic classes where you will explore street and commercial dance, improving your skills and confidence to the sounds of your favourite current tracks. Our street dance classes will introduce you to core street styles, putting them into practice with exciting choreography and help you learn to improvise with confidence.

Tap Dance - Wednesday - 6pm-7pm

Got happy feet? This literal step-by-step guide to basic tap technique is set to a range of music and is a fun and relaxed way to slide into Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers’ shoes. We guarantee you’ll be dancing on the ceiling, figuratively at least, afterwards. It’s fantastic for fitness and toning the lower body, with differentiated exercises available as needed. You don't need tap shoes for your first class if you are doing a taster. You can purchase tap shoes from https://dancewear.co.uk/ (not an affiliate link) but they can also be purchased online. The tutor will be happy to advise you on this.

Creative Contemporary (18+) - Thursday - 7pm-8pm

Aimed at those aged 18+ with a neurological or physical diversity who have experience of contemporary dance or have taken our creative contemporary S.E.N.D class. Places are limited and we can only accept new members when a space becomes available. There are all the same benefits as the S.E.N.D classes and it’s a confidence builder, helps with self-esteem, with expressing yourself through dance. You’ll cover exercises, travelling work, improvisation, learn set choreography and create your own.
