The Workers' Educational Association - King's Lynn Branch
The Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) is the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in the UK. It is a community learning provider with over 36,00 volunteers. It is a registered charity and during 2014/2015 the WEA recruited over 61,000 students who enjoyed 9,700 courses. In 2013 the association celebrated 100 years of learning in East Anglia.
The WEA organisation is divided into geographical regions with the East Anglian area comprising branches in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
The thriving King’s Lynn branch has been providing many and varied courses for many years. Courses run at the Friends’ Meeting House in Bridge Street usually comprise of 2 hour sessions over a period of 7 or 8 weeks. These courses are available to all comers.
A monthly Discussion Group meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month throughout the year.
A wide and varied selection of Day Schools organised by the Norfolk Federation of the WEA covering many topics are held throughout the county.
