Downham Market - The Markets
Downham Market markets received their Charter in 1046 from Edward The Confessor. To this day, nearly 1000 years later, our Town’s Friday and Saturday markets are a central focus of life in and around Downham Market.
The town’s market is held on the Market Square, Bridge Street in front of our iconic Town Hall, where you will find a wide variety of retail traders. Our historic Market Charter allows one trader per commodity, ensuring a variety of stalls and lots to browse.
The market has a mix of permanent traders and casual traders, so please contact us at info@downhammarkettc.co.uk if you wish to find out more about taking a stall on one or both market days.
