Non Emergency Patient Transport Volunteer Service

Volunteer car drivers take patients to essential medical appointments within East Anglia, and sometimes further afield using their own cars. Volunteers provide a home–to–home service for patients accessing outpatients’ clinics and specialist treatment centres, including dialysis units.
To be a volunteer for this service you’ll need to enjoy driving and meeting people. It can be an anxious or stressful time for some patients who are attending medical appointments so providing reassurance and support, as well as transport, is important in this role.
You will have to undergo the usual DBS and other security checks plus have a clean driving licence and a 4 door vehicle that is regularly maintained with valid documentation. We will offer you training to support you in your role.
If you enjoy driving and meeting people then this Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service could be the perfect volunteering opportunity for you. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information or express interest via the Volunteer Platform.
