Nappies are rubbish not recycling

Nappies are rubbish not recycling please don't put your nappy in the recycling bin

Published: Thursday, 1st February 2018

Norfolk Waste Partnership's new campaign is asking us "please don't put nappies in your recycling bin".

Every year, around 400,000 used nappies are put in recycling bins and end up at Norfolk’s recycling facility in Costessey, causing a big problem.

Putting nappies in the wrong bin contaminates other recycling, costs time and money to deal with, and is unpleasant and unhygienic for the workers who sort the recycling by hand.

So when you have finished with a nappy, please put it in your rubbish bin where it belongs.
