Dr Paul Williams has been appointed as the new Chair of West Norfolk CCG’s Governing Body.
Dr Williams is the senior partner at Upwell Health Centre. He has been involved with West Norfolk CCG since before it became a statutory body, working as part of the transitional executive which led to the formation of the CCG.
In his current role as a member of the CCG’s Governing Body, Dr Williams is the Prescribing and Education Lead for the CCG, and Vice Chair of the Community Education Provider Network for West Norfolk.
Dr Williams said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the next Clinical Chair for West Norfolk CCG. This is a challenging period for the whole NHS and I am determined to work for the people of West Norfolk to make sure that we continue to deliver the highest standards of healthcare, as locally as possible, as we transform the NHS to make it fit for the 21st century.”
Dr Williams takes over the role from Dr Ian Mack, who retired from West Norfolk CCG, and his practice as a family doctor, at the end of September 2017, after over 30 years in the NHS.
Dr Mack said: “I am happy to be handing over the Chairmanship of West Norfolk CCG’s Governing Body to Dr Williams. He is a passionate believer in the NHS and I am sure that his leadership and drive will help to move the CCG forward as we approach ever more challenging times”.
