Norfolk Trading Standards are continuing to warn residents to be on their guard after receiving further reports of males going door to door selling household cleaning products.
We have received reports this week from the Hunstanton, Blakeney, Wells and Cromer areas.
The sellers are claiming that they have ‘recently been released from prison’ or working as part of a ‘youth offending order’. In some incidents they have also claimed to be ‘licensed’ for this work and are displaying some form of identification on lanyards. In some reports the cold callers have been described as persistent, aggressive and intimidating in their approach and demeanour especially when residents decline the offer to purchase items.
Trading Standards advises never to deal with anyone who cold calls at your property offering to sell something.
It is possible these sellers may continue to move to other locations in the Norfolk area.
Anyone sighting these sellers in Norfolk or concerned about rogue trader activity in their community can contact us through our partners the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 03454 04 05 06 or to Norfolk Constabulary via 101.
